Our Board Members

Andrew Riolo - Acting President & Treasurer

Andrew Riolo is an adoptive father of Sang Hoon Lee and Yeong Kyeong Kim who are  adopted from South Korea.

Andrew and his family have recently moved to Tamworth to raise their children in a country friendly environment.

He is the Finance Manager of Tamworth Rural Limited which is a public non listed company that has a long 75 years history in the area and was a Co – Op for most of those years.

Prior roles Andrew held the position of Chief Financial Officer in both the Non Profit Sector in Community Housing and the Private Sector at Body Corporate Service which is the largest Strata Management Company in Australia.

Andrew has had over 25 year’s commercial and non-profit sector experience in a broad range of industries at Senior Executive levels ranging from Air & Sea Freight, Motor Industry, Finance and Insurance Brokerage, Social Housing and Rural Sector.

Andrew Riolo holds a degree in Agricultural Economics at Sydney University, majoring in Accountancy and Economics and Econometrics.

 

 

 


Luciana Balzanelli - Secretary

Luciana (Lou) is mother to two children, a girl and a boy, both adopted from Cali, Colombia. 
Lou spent 24 years living in Sydney before relocating to Canberra five years ago. 
She has been employed by Macquarie Bank for the past 25 years, initially as an Executive Assistant, and now in government relations. She currently works on a part time basis.
Lou has been AFC's secretary since 1999.

 

Lynne Dalton - Public Officer

Lynne Dalton has over 25 years experience in the community sector and is the past CEO of the Centre for Volunteering NSW a peak body representing and promoting volunteer activity in NSW. She was previously a Board member of The Centre for Volunteering for over 8 years before taking up the CEO position.

Previously Lynne worked on a partnership project with NSW of Family Services and Department of Community Services on capacity building in small to medium not-for-profit organisations.

Lynne was also the Director of Holdsworth Street Community Centre in Woollahra where she managed 65 staff delivering support services to eastern suburbs residents. Lynne also spent three years at the Department of Ageing Disability and Home Care and five years with the National Parks & Wildlife Service in senior project positions.

Lynne’s experience in the non-profit area includes child care, family support, volunteering, environment, youth, disability and multi-culturalism. Lynne holds a degree in Social Science, has a Diploma of Business and a Certificate IV in Marketing. She is a qualified trainer specializing in management and governance with a special interest in justice and equity.

 

 

Albert Umansky - Board member

Albert Umansky is a father of three children who, with his wife Rossanna, adopted their two younger children from Cali Colombia in 2006.

Albert is an accredited NAATI Translator in Spanish and has assisted AFC in a volunteer capacity with Spanish interpreting and translations.  They have also worked with Department of Community Services in presenting at the Older Child adoption seminars run by DOCS.

Albert is a lawyer who specialises in employment law and Human Resources with experience in migration law.  He has a Master of Business in Employment Relations and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from UTS as well as undergraduate degrees in Law and Economics from Sydney University.

Albert and Rossanna were born in South America and they travel there regularly to maintain their family links and heritage.

 

 

 

 

Adam Brisson - Board member

Adam Brisson is an adult adoptee adopted from La, Paz Bolivia in 1983.

Adam is Director of Toon Creations, a cartooning school located in Bondi Beach teaching kids how to enjoy the arts. He is also the Director of Aqua Kidz Swim School located in the Easter Suburbs.

Adam has overseen the Teenz Connection Program and Camp Connection Program for the young adoptees.
